General information

Think College Now, Oakland, California

Charlotte has had a relationship with this school for the past seven years.  Initially she helped the staff develop systems for aligning instruction with the CST and backwards mapping over the course of the school year.  Recently she has been supporting grade level teams from the school with writing instruction, and data walls.  This school has truly closed the achievement gap and received both California Distinguished School and Title I achieving school awards in 2010.

General information

Franklin McKinley School District, San Jose, CA

Charlotte has been working with a number of elementary schools in this urban district for the past 4 years.  During this time she has helped three Title I schools up over the 800 API target set for all schools in California. In addition, Mckinley School was able to get out of program improvement year 5–a feat that was only accomplished by 23 schools in the state last year.  In the coming year, Charlotte will begin school wide writing campaigns as well as maintain the focus on the Strategic Schooling basics for all sites.

General information

Atwater Unified School District

We are going into our third year with this central valley district and the results have been outstanding.   We initially focused on the basics of Strategic Schooling with an emphasis on curricular alignment to the CST.  Last year we launched a district-wide writing campaign and met with each grade level team each trimester to analyze writing results and plan for the next cycle of writing instruction. In the coming year we will refine our work with writing and incorporate the new Common Core Standards for writing into the instructional plans we develop.

You, as an individual, make a tremendous difference in the lives of many, many people.  Through your vision, dedication, synthesis of “what matters most” and simplification of the implementation process – it all translates into improved academic performance – giving our most needy students a chance at a successful future.
Melinda Hennes, Superintendent, Atwater Unified School District

We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Charlotte Knox. We have had many consultants, but she is truly the best. She is down to earth, approachable, and her strategies are very practical and actually make sense.
