Knox Education develops customized teaching tools for dozens of
schools and school districts. For more than 15 years we've
published many of these tools in our books and videos. Now
we've made it easier to work with us by creating this interactive
website, including access to the entire collection of materials
and updated versions of documents.
You'll be able to access over 500 documents to support
standards-based teaching, and better align the curriculum you
deliver each day with the California Standards Test. These are
organized by grade level, and are also searchable.
We've also uploaded the entire contents of the 450 page book on
teaching writing, Backwards Planning for Success
with Writing. This section is organized by topic and includes
all the new material for teaching writing since the book's 2009

Here are the results for the schools Charlotte Knox worked with
during the 2010-11 school year.
Highlights include a whole district reaching an API of 801,
another district gaining 54 points overall, and 13 schools
climbing to over 800!
In addition, three of our schools were just listed on the 2011
eligible California Distinguished School
list,--no small thing when the cut off was 832 for elementary
schools this year.
We are so proud of the students, staff, and principals at all of
these schools! We are all coming to realize that closing
the achievement gap for low income and minority students can
become a predictable reality following the formula for success
developed by Dennis Parker.
Also look for us at
ACSA next week. Dennis will be presenting a Strategic
Schooling session Thursday morning. Charlotte, Dennis and a
stellar principal from Atwater, Ana Boyenga, will also be
presenting an illustration of successful implementation during
the Saturday session.
The Class-wide Peer Tutoring Workshop, endorsed by Dennis
Parker’s Strategic Schooling is a 2-day workshop
on January 26-27, 2012 from 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM at the Real
Life Training Center in Sacramento.
Charlotte is creating a new series featuring the 3 types of
writing indicated in the new Common Core Standards for
writing. The first of the three will feature "argument/
opinion" writing which for the first time runs from kinder to
12th grade. The resources will be uploaded to the site as
they are developed.
